The view of Minneapolis from a destroyed ocean town
Ryn Richmond
The landscape has changed;
I picture it from afar, across oceans and
the international date line.
The skyline is the same but the
energy isn’t.
The businesses that stay, stay.
The systemic issues that remain, remain.
Another marginalized person has died—
one in a long stream of police brutality,
and the rivers soak up the blood, our tears,
which crumble bridges and roads, even here,
and mothers move away.
