In this module, we’re going to talk about communicating and discussing within the Canvas environment.

Communicating with students is a critical part of teaching and learning. Even if you have a face to face course, you will likely want or need to communicate with students virtually at various points.

To help facilitate communication with students throughout the term, Canvas offers a suite of communication tools including

  • Announcements
  • Conversations
  • Chat
  • Discussions
  • (and more)

Learn how to use these communication tools in your own teaching and learning, including considering the following questions: — H5P:  Add questions/mini needs assessment? —

  • What are your expectations around online communication with your students?
    • I’d like students to email me directly. That way I can be sure to
