Imaging basics

The first section of the book/course covers the basic physics of imaging — nothing specific to functional MRI, but the physics background you need to understand what’s going on in an fMRI experiment.

It’s a lot, and nobody gets it all the first time through. But these terms will show up again and again as we talk about how to get good images and how to design an experiment, so let’s have a look!
