arrival

today is the day of my arrival.

i am coming into this life in love

and with enthusiasm.

today is the day that i choose to be kind.

not because i have to

but because i know that She would want that for me.

today is the day

that the little toad makes it

across the road and finds a home

within the lily pads and clovers.

not every day is good

or pleasant

or full of bright orange sunsets.

but i can learn to be kind, i suppose.

whatever that means.
