8.2 An Overview of the Factors that can Impact Sleep
To get the best sleep possible, we should consider the factors that contribute to or hinder sleep. These can include light, schedule, stress, substance use, environment, and hormones among others. This module focuses on these factors and will provide insight into which factors can be adjusted to encourage adequate and quality sleep.

There is no right or best way to sleep. The keys to good sleep are awareness of what influences sleep for better or for worse, changing the factors when and to the extent possible, and willingness to re-assess as circumstances change.
