Yes, undergraduate research is big on this campus for all colleges and majors. Some students like to do research on their own just to learn cool stuff. Others want to gain experience for a resume, see if they like it for a career, and apply what they are learning in the classes.
One example is the Minnesota Undergraduate Research & Academic Journal (MURAJ).
